Happy new week fashionettes, hope you had a fabulous weekend. It was all about appreciating the women and Happy belated International Women's day to all the ladies out there.
You guys, am obsessed with skirts.....like I can't stop wearing them. If you have seen all my previous posts from this year, its skirts and dresses. One thing I love about them though is that they are super versatile, there are 100 ways of wearing them. Another is that if worn well, they are uber stylish and they bring out the feminity in you.
I got this coral printed one sometime back, i have no idea how long I have had it, but I just happen to fish it out of my closet and boy was I sorry I had not thought of it before. It was fun and flirty, the mini length was just perfect for the hot sun outside and how gorge is the print on it. I decided to do a color block, its been a while since I did a flurry of colors. Since the skirt was a high waist, I went for a burgundy red Victoria secret top
In the spirit of color blocking, I went for mint green capped toes, neon green earrings and an emerald green neck piece. I added the black geeks for an edge to the outfit
                                          MY ACCESSORIES

I got a confession to make, I love me some rugby.....and its not about the well built men running around with an egg shaped ball (okay who am I kidding) its a plus though *wink. When I want to unwind, its the surest way of letting go. So this Saturday, I was at the RFUEA grounds rooting for my team, which eventually lost *sad sigh* but too much fun to dampen my spirits.
I was looking for something uber comfortable, stylish and still girly at the same time. So, i opted for this stripped maxi, fitting and with a pencil hem. I always find that black and white stripes always go well with bold hues, hence the edgy red flatties and the neon green skinny belt.
For a summer chic look, I added the straw fedora and the vintage chanel hobo cross body bag and finish it off with a bold lip.
My accessories were few; i love this hello kitty pendant....its sooo cute, a cross ring and tiny neon pink earrings.

Halloooo Halloooo.....whos more excited about the summer than me! yea, we been waiting for the cold to come to an end and now its time to unleash the dresses and all those cute little shorts we have been storing for the right time.

Well, this Saturday i had the honor of attending one of my childhood friend's wedding and was really humbled by the experience. I went for a very simple and demure look and for once I let out my hair down. My hair is very light and scattered so I tend to avoid having it down.
I went for this floral maxi with a pair or gold distressed heels with a cobalt blue suede front.
My accessories were very minimal....a pair of a pearl necklace that i turned into a bracelet, simple gold drop down bronze earrings, an owl bronze ring, an emerald green neckpiece and finished it off with a pink rouged lipstick.
                                                    CLOSET:
                                                    Floral Maxi- Gees closet
                                                    Gold heels- Ericos Collection
                                                    Bronze earrings- Jaynes Collection
Neck piece, ring, pearls- Perida centre

Last month we had a bloggers challenge to pull monochrome looks...I took this pictures and completely forgot to post them, my apologies. I went for a very simple look with an off white  knit dress and matching pointy toe pumps and clutch bag
I added pops of color with the purple lipstick, citric orange belt with a corsage, which I wore at the back and drop cobalt blue earrings

                                  THE NAUTICAL STRIPPED HI-LO TOP

Lately, I have been obsessed with cropped tops especially the hot sweaty days. I wore this look for a simple day going shoe shopping with my gals, It was versatile and incase it got chilly, all I had to do was button up the denim vest I had on top. I grabbed my fedora straw hat, sun glasses and these leather capped cute flatties with clear sides (read,my new obsession). I am not much of a leggings fan but I decided to do these with a simple look.
                             THE HOT PINK HI-LO TOP

My second look, I wore for just day in town with my siz, I went for a lil' color blocking and cargo pants. The shoes, I got in my shopping escapade mentioned above...I hesitated buying it but my gal...Jules convinced and I owe her one for that, I loved the tiers and the ankle bootish look it has. I then carried my oversized floral purse.

Hallo fashionettes...been a long minute right? Well my camera decided to die on me so I had to sit it out for a few days till i got a rescue. Anywho I've missed blogging and I pray there will be no more hiatus....so lets get to business....I have been meaning to try out the print on print trend and I got the chance yesterday as it was very sunny and summer-ish
I was on my thrifting escapades when I saw this skirt....this chic was trying it on and oh my....was I wishing she would not buy it. So after a gruesome 30 minutes she finally let it go and trust me I jumped on it so fast the girl was puzzled......c'mon if you love shopping yo know what am talking about. The polka dot is so playful...it was a perfect fit and it was midi....what more could a girl ask for.
I decided to take a fash risk and combine it with this animal print tee....I love its fit and its so ideal for the hot weather without being too sheer....I find it a lil' bit flirty.
Basically...I went just for a simple tee with a skirt....Its amazing how much print can change an outfit. That's why I went for a solid hot pink pump to break the busy outfit and carried a white envelope clutch.
I love playing around with this brooch and this time round I minimised a very bareback tee...I held it together to make some vavavum out of it and make it more comfortable for me to wear it....as I am very conscious about revealing too much skin.

I paired it up with drop waisted pencil pants, a satchel bag and simple pumps for a day of running errands.

I don't do preppy looks often but this time I decided to go all out and incorporate a bow tie and colored geeks.
This was my Saturday wear for a friend's event and I totally love the pin  striped white and blue blazer. The weather was a ishy with the sun getting hot and dull at the same time so it was a struggle to find the perfect lighting for the pictures
I did a lil' bit color blocking with the crazy green button up shirt, green shorts and hot pink pointy pumps
I balanced the craziness with a black patent purse

I find styling jumpsuits to be really tricky, you have to consider your shape and figure, otherwise you find your self in some fashion police cap. This was my outfit for my brother's graduation,I got this butter yellow one in my thrifting escapades....its a lil' baggy which i prefer because it doesn't crinkle around the hip and thigh area.
I particularly loved the collars at the front and back. The back is has a low neck while the front is shorter and peter pan. I threw in the jungle green vest to bring some seriousness to the outfit, but threw it off when it got extra warm
I did the little pops of color by adding a neon pink skinny belt, color blocked earrings and the cobalt blue platforms and matching tweed purse borrowed from my sisters closet.
I totally love the back it soo party at the back while business at the front.
I added a tangerine scarf with black polka dots to serve as my hair band.
                                                           CLOSET:
                                                          Jumpsuit- Thrifted
                                                          Platforms- Pretty woman

                                                          Ring, earrings- Perida centre

I always find the boudoir family quite sexy and its only ideal for me to love lace. Its one of those fabrics thats here to stay and will always re occur in runways time after time.
The skirt i have done it before in a post before so this time i decided to spice the outfit up and pair it with this black lace blouse.
I added a neon pink belt to bring that pop of color
Then.....i carried this white vintage bag with flame details and finished it off with these orange suede bow heels
Then my oh so lovely kitenge earrings from Bri's African Relics collection
                                                                  CLOSET:
